Count Down!

Really interesting read

Came across it as I'm thinking of doing something similar after a boozy weekend and one of those rows with my partner you only ever have when drunk.

And then you regret it the next day - if you can remember any of it (usually these days I can't).

I work in publishing so go out drinking a lot - it's part of the working environment.

But I really think I'm getting bored of drinking and I can't think of any favours it does me.

As I've got older I've tried to cut down, but now I've just become a binge drinker - nothing for a week then get wellied when do I have a drink.

This has inspired me somewhat

Keep it up, fella

I can totally see how work could make it feel like your forced to drink. I certainly have said the same about different occasions. That said I guess you cant go on like that forever and you could always say youve developed an intolerance to alchohol (or just tell them to shut up ;-)

I dont think its for everyone to give up for a year but I've had a great time doing things I never would have imagined.

If you had told me a year ago that I would rather have the car on a night out than drink I would have laughed but thats really how I feel now. I didnt think my opinion on alcohol would change but it really has. Im obviously going to still drink but I'm not sure I want to actually get drunk anymore...it just seems so pointless now I know life doesnt change for the worse without it.

Thanks for the feedback, Its appreciated! :-)
